Philanthropy
Sigma Kappa Lambda Chapter is committed to serving our community! Each semester, we participate in philanthropies that service our national philanthropies and the Greater Bay Area.

Fall Events
Walk to End Alzheimer's
Together with the San Francisco/ East Bay Area Alumnae Chapter, Lambda Chapter fundraises and gathers together in support of the fight to end Alzheimer's disease. The 5k Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. This year, Lambda chapter exceeded our goal and raised $10,000! If you would like to join our team or donate, please support us!

Ultra Violet Gala
Sigma Kappa’s annual fall philanthropy event, The Ultra Violet Gala, is an elaborate ‘purple tie’ formal benefiting Alzheimer’s research. Taking place during Homecoming Weekend, this event is a major Greek community fundraiser, hosting UC Berkeley students, parents, and alumni. The party, which raises tens of thousands of dollars, is a festive evening of live performances and entertainment, delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, lively auctions of donated luxury items and gift packages, and appearances by honored guests. Thank you to all who came to Berkeley City Club and contributed to our philanthropy! We were able to donate almost $21,000 to the Sigma Kappa Foundation, which is the second largest donor to the Alzheimer's Association behind the federal government.

Sigma Kappa Sundaes
In the spring, Sigma Kappa hosts its annual Sigma Kappa Sundaes ice cream social to support Alzheimer’s research. Our house is transformed into an elaborate customizable sundae bar featuring scrumptious Lorde’s Ice Cream and endless toppings, student music performances, and raffles for luxury jewelry. Check back in the spring for a date to join us!
Warring Street Block Party
This spring, the Sigma Kappa sorority hosted a Philanthropy Carnival to raise funds and community awareness for the Alzheimer's Research Fund. The event included carnival games, food, and live music and was located in the city's local park, including the larger Berkeley community. This year was a great success, as we were able to raise over $5,000 for the cause. We thank you for all your support and look forward to throwing a great event in the near future!
